Some of my Favorite Blythe Doll Customs

We all play favorites, dont lie. Some blythe dolls you bond with and some others, well, we dont want to hurt anyones feelings here. So far, ive customized 15 blythe dolls, some basaak cheapies and some factory dolls, but they all come out cute. Here are my favorites.

#1 Rosalinda.  Custom Blythe Doll #9

Originally, I named her Melinda from her photos online, but when she arrived and I pulled her out of the box, she was DEFINITELY a Rosie. Therefore she became Rosalinda 'Beautiful Rose' and a beautiful rose she is. It was love at first sight with this girl and just kept getting better and better. After a new faceup, new eyechips and some handmade blythe clothes, she quickly became my favorite.  See More Photos of Rosie.

#2 Magdalena. Custom Blythe Doll #15

Magdalena, my little punk princes is a girl after my own heart. While working on her, the nickname 'magpie' kept popping in my head, until i finally caved and asked google what is a magpie anyway? Lo and behold, it was a black and white BIRD!  Which is completely fitting. This girl was a basaak with beautiful hair, but there was a problem. She was half bald. Sometimes great ideas come from a solution... After I sewed the black hair weft into the bald spots she had this amazing two toned hair! Her faceplate was by far my best blythe doll carving (hopefully not the last :D) I kept wanting to do more makeup, but couldnt bring myself to do it. She just looked so perfect. Less is more in this case. See more photos of Magdalena.

#3 Daphne. Custom Blythe Doll #11

Daphne is my little nature spirit. The story of Daphne and Apollo goes like this. Cupid shot Apollo with his love arrow, and he had a hankering for Daphne. Daphne was having nothing to do with this. So he chased her, and chased her, like any man under a love spell would do. And she ran, continuing her flight until she begged her father (a river god) to save her. Which he did by turning her into a laurel tree! She was forever a nature spirit. So my little Daphne represents greek mythology with a pure white dress and beautiful hair flowing to the ground. #4 Steffie. Custom Blythe Doll #7

I had spent very little time with Steffie im glad that I grabbed photos of her. She was my first factory custom (upgraded from basaak). Her hair was perfect and needed nothing. Her eyechips went in flawlessly. Her carving went very quick (i was in the zone) and she was listed on ebay and sold in 15 minutes! Steffie originally looked so pure and sweet, and I wanted to keep that in her faceplate carving and color. See more photos of Steffie.

#5 Betty. Custom Blythe Doll #8

Betty was my little diva to say the least, before i even carved her face. Her hair was greasy and stringy when she came, but was overwhelmingly easy to fix. A good brushing and some finger curls and she was instantly transformed into miss thang. When I sanded her faceplace there were two stubborn spots that would not sand off... BIRTHMARKS! I soon discovered that the birthmark on her cheek was in the same spot as Marilyn Monroes and the one above her eyebrow was in the same spot as Angelina Jolies. Betty was born to be a diva! I wanted her to be a 50's style diva. A pinup hairdo, some little red lips, and a 50s style dress later and the diva had arrived. See more photos of Betty here

Im not nearly closed to finished with blythe dolls. As of today, I have completed 15 customiztions so this list might grow!!!
